Another Misleading Headline

In yet another case of sensationalized headlines, Information Age has published an article titled Malicious iPhone app triggers malware surge.

The article itself is well written, and does not make the same mistake as the headline.  In the very first line of the article starts with “A malicious trojan disguised as an iPhone application…” which is very different from a malicious iPhone application.  Most likely, the headline was written by someone who barely glanced at the story.

There is a good summary of this trojan, which affects Windows machines not iPhones, on CNET: Trojan masquerades as iPhone game.
